We did our chapter five project on drawing cards from a Euchre deck. We found that there was a 7 in 24 chance of drawing a certain suit. Whether it being a club, spade, heart, and diamond, the reason being is you have the following cards 9,10, right jack, left jack, queen, king, ace.
Brooke, Victor and I did our chapter 6 stats project on defining binomial equations. In our study we did the probability that someone can wink. We had a group of 8 people and we found the probability that 5 can wink and the probability that 7 could wink. Carter and I collected a sample of 50 people to see how many earrings people owned. We were surprised with how many girls didn't own a lot of earrings. We were supposed to have a normal distribution but that didn't work out with our topic.
Kenzie and I had a topic assigned to us for the chapter 8 project and it was Annual profits per employee for companies in retail sales, such as Gap, Nordstrom, J.C. Penney, Sears, and Wal-Mart (in thousands of dollars per employee). We had to find everything from sample mean to the marginal error. For our final project I was paired up with Dylan, this was by far the hardest section for me to learn. But we took a sample of 30 Fowler High School students and asked them how many minutes they spend a day on Facebook. The average time the problem gave us was 20 minutes but our sample was 35.6 so we had to fail to reject our hypothesis.
